Candi L. Dircks has a very diverse and unique background that has taken her all over the country, exposing her to the many different cultures and attitudes that form the great patchwork of society—as well as create great legal conflicts. Growing up the daughter of an Owens-Illinois traveling executive, she relocated state-to-state with her family every year or so. She spent all of her high school and college years in small towns around Waco, Texas, before attending law school in Manhattan. Following law school, she found her way back to her “Georgia Peach” roots, having been born in Georgia during a family stint in Hampton at the same time Smokey and the Bandit was filming on her street. Candi came to Edwards & Johnson with 15 years of varying law firm work experience.

She began her legal career working on the regulatory side of health care law for private medical practices. She then moved into labor and employment law, working on the management side of arbitrations surrounded by union protestors in NYC, to then working in federal criminal law following the terrorist attacks of 9/11. She spent roughly ten years working primarily in the role of National Coordinating Counsel (NCC) defending global corporate entities and managing their complex toxic tort, insured litigation. Candi has additional, specialized experience representing construction companies, performing artists and non-profits with contractual disputes and ongoing regulatory compliance matters; and, she is well versed in probate, elder abuse, animal abuse, and all aspects of family law matters.
